My name is Sara Postic. I grew up in Dearborn Heights, MI. I graduated from the University of Findlay with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
As I was preparing to find a teaching job for the upcoming school year, I came across a very unique opportunity. There was a missionary teaching position available in Haiti through the Churches of God General Conference. It was quite a bit farther away than I originally planned. I started to pray about the opportunity. Through prayer, scripture reading, and counsel of others, I felt God strongly calling me to this position. I decided to be obedient to His call. I applied and was offered the position.
This past school year, I traveled to Haiti to teach three elementary aged missionary children—Charity (5th grade), Daniel (2nd), and Joseph (Kindergarten). I was there for nine months.
Throughout the experience, I intended to post many more photos and blog posts documenting this adventure. Busyness and slow Internet hindered these endeavors. But, I did manage to post some reflections! You may read through my experiences leading up to and in Haiti on this blog.
